Title
Letter from John Franklin to Mrs Fitton, sending her a small basket made of birch bark out of which the North American canoes are built

Description
The bark is ornamented by quills dyed by the native woman who made the basket. The note is only dated 8 December, but it is likely to have been after the first Arctic expedition which might make the year 1824 possible
