Administrative HistoryRichard Franklin Wright (1819-1887) was the eldest son of Reverend Thomas Bailey Wright and his wife Henrietta (nee Franklin); he was the nephew of the Arctic explorer Sir John Franklin and the cousin of Eleanor Isabella Gell. He studied at Oxford and went on to become a clergyman, being ordained a deacon in 1842 and priest in 1843. He succeeded his father as Vicar of Wrangle, Lincolnshire, 1858.
