Administrative History | Arthur Wright (1831-1920) was the son of Reverend Thomas Bailey Wright and his wife Henrietta (Franklin); he was the nephew of the Arctic explorer Sir John Franklin and cousin of Eleanor Isabella Franklin, later Gell. he was educated at Grantham School and St John's College, Cambridge. He was ordained as a deacon in 1854 and as a priest in 1855. He served as Curate of South Ormsby wirh Driby, 1853-1857, and Vicar of Welton-le-Marsh, 1857-1871. He was Rector of Gunby, 1866-1871 and Rector of Toynton, 1871-1873, before becoming Rector of Coningsby, 1873-1913. He was Prebendary Canon of Lincoln from 1875 to 1920 |
