| Administrative History | The provisions for firefighting were taken over by the Corporation in 1839. The force was reorganised under the provisions of the Fire Service Act 1947. The Act also created the Derbyshire Fire Service (later Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service) and the two brigades were merged following local government reorganisation in 1974. |
| Custodial History | These records were donated to Derby Local Studies and Family History Library by a former fireman with an interest in the history of the brigade. They were transferred to Derbyshire Record Office by in July 2024. |
