| Administrative History | The parish of Sutton on the Hill also included the townships of Osleston and Thurvaston, and Ash. Osleston included the hamlet of Cropper. In 1859 the ecclesiastical parish of Christ Church, Long Lane was formed out of parts of Sutton, Trusley, and Brailsford which took away the township of Osleston and Thurvaston.
