Administrative History | The first Wesleyan Methodist Chapel in Whitwell was built in 1858 (Scotland Street). When a new chapel was built on Dog Lane (now Portland Street) in 1891-2, the old chapel came to be used as a Sunday School. The chapel on Portland Street is described as 'a neat oblong building of brick in the Gothic style, with sitting accommodation for 350'.
As of 2022, this church was part of the Trinity Methodist Circuit which covers parts of North Nottinghamshire, East Derbyshire and South Yorkshire. |
