| Administrative History | Stanley Common Primary School was built for 164 children. The site was granted in 1863 by Robert Evans and his wife Jane, tenants for life to Isaac Attenborough of Stanley Lodge. The deeds specified that the site would be used for a school and teacher's residence, and for occasional divine service. Responsibility for religious and moral instruction at the school was assigned to the officiating minister of the parish of Stanley. The school was extended in 1901. Following a 2024 academy conversion agreement (see DCC/LG/CX/3887) Stanley Common Church of England Primary School ceased to exist, being replaced by an academy. |
| Custodial History | These records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in two accessions, on 15 April 2021 and 13 June 2022. Ownership passed to Derbyshire County Council when the school ceased to exist. |
