Administrative HistoryRosemary Packwood (aka 'Rose' or 'Packy') was born on 15 June 1943 in Bournmouth [Dorset] to Noel and Nancy (nee Kirkby). Rose left St Ronan's at the age of 16, finding employment in Children's homes, before setting sail for Australia on the P. O. Oriana in August 1969. Rose settled in Perth, Western Australia, gaining joint citizenship in 1981. She resumed work in Children's homes and Day Care centres in 1970, and continued in this line of work until her retirement in 2001. Rose never married or had children, but was godmother for 44 years and 'Nana' to two of the children in her 'adoptive' family, for the final 14 years of her life. Rosemary died in May 2018.
Custodial HistoryThese papers were donated to Derbyshire Record Office by one of Rosemary's 'adoptive' relatives in May 2019 and accessioned under reference D7757. They were re-accessioned in January 2020 to a personal collection rather than the school's archive.
