Administrative HistoryEstablished in 1997 by six local people with experience of relatives in care, First Taste aimed to improve opportunities for learning older people in residential and day care settings principally, but not exclusively, in the Derbyshire Dales. Their vision was to bring into homes qualified arts tutors to conduct interactive creative sessions and to encourage the development of the holistic skills of homes and day centres care staff.

The Charity held its last Annual General Meeting on 15 Oct 2018 at the Whitworth Centre, Darley Dale following which the Charity Commission was asked to formally dissolve the Charity as from 31 Oct 2018, with remaining funds to be administered by AgeUK Derby and Derbyshire, who established a specific stream of work to continue the charity's name and work.
Custodial HistoryThese records were donated in April 2019 by an original Trustee and former Voluntary Secretary of the charity who was responsible for winding down the charity after it was dissolved in October 2018.
