Description
Extensive correspondence file, including in- and out-letters, some of a personal, conversational nature, but largely referring to the exploration of underground workings, including the Meerbrook Sough. The file includes:
A draft agreement for indemnity in the case of personal injury etc.
9-page typed letter from Doug Nash to Nellie Kirkham dated 9 Jul 1962 including a list of measurements of various sections of underground workings [Meerbrook Sough] and other detailed descriptions of investigations.
6-page typed article by Walter M Else dated Mar 1960, entitled "A Brief History of the Construction of the Meerbrook Sough: The Comford Sough, and the Hanage [Hannage] Sough with Special Reference to the Source of the Water in the Meerbrook Sough, Wirksworth".
