Deed of covenant by John Stone of Ashgate, yeoman, to Edward Wood of Chesterfield, gentleman; reciting mortgage by Stone and Henry Poole of Nottinghamshire, grocer, to Wood of a messuage and garden at Ashgate, a nearby messuage and garden, Little Croft also. Upper Croft (1 acre), Great Croft also. Nether Croft (4 acres), Breethorne (9 acres), Millthorpe (4 ½ acres), Windmill Fields also. Wind Mill Close (4 acres), Short Hills (5 acres), the Spring (3 acres), Meadow Head (2 ½ acres), Coat Meadow (6 acres), Great Meadow (8 acres), Three Acres (3 acres) and Upper and Nether Close (12 acres) all at Brampton as security for £500; the premises to stand as security for the £500 and for another £50 lent to him by Wood.
