Administrative History | Longford is one of the ancient parishes in the county. It included the townships of Alkmonton, Hollington, Hungry Bentley, Longford and Rodsley. Part of Hollington, however, was in Brailsford parish. A church was built at Alkmonton in 1843 and this became a separate chapelry district in 1849, comprising the township of Alkmonton and the Liberty of Hungry Bentley (see D806). |
