Archive Creator	Parish of Longford St Chad
Administrative History	Longford is one of the ancient parishes in the county. It included the townships of Alkmonton, Hollington, Hungry Bentley, Longford and Rodsley. Part of Hollington, however, was in Brailsford parish. A church was built at Alkmonton in 1843 and this became a separate chapelry district in 1849, comprising the township of Alkmonton and the Liberty of Hungry Bentley (see D806).
Custodial History	These documents were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office by the parish in May 1970, May 1979, June 1979, April 1982, June 1990 and March 1997. Further items were donated by a member of the public in October 2022 (see D804/A/PS/1/1 for further details) and Derby Local Studies and Family History Library in December 2024 (see D804/A/PW/4).
