And from there you may go forward till you come to the west ga[te]
There is overhadden & Neither Hadden & Stanton on the hill
There is hartle hall & Alport & there’s a paper mill
There is Middleton & Monney ash and flag town so rough
There is Birchover & Al/Eclester & so to the Pilhoof
There is Bowers hall & Roosley & Tinkersly […]
I’d thought to g[…] the East more [?] [..] can the […]
There is Beely & Baslow & Middleton & [Eyam ?]
There is folow & wardlow & Hucklow old Vein
There is Stunstid hall & hargate & woremill on the hill
and from there you may go forwards till you come to Blackwell mill
There is Blackwell & Blackwell Dytch & Pressly beside
There is Tadington & Sheldon & Ashford upon tide
There is Longson & Rulland & Hassop & All
There is Enser & Chatsworth & there’s a pretty Hall
There is Stantliff & Todholl & so to the Cross Green
There is Wensly & Snitterton is a Little mile Between
There is Matlock & Tansley & Riber so high
There is Darley Dale & Bonsall & Slaly it lies by
There is Winster & Elton & Gratten in the vale
And there is a pretty Landlady But I’ll not tell her name

There is Brandy Bess of W[o?]ton Lane & Dolly Wood of Winster
There is Bigin & Heartenton & heath cote stands between
There is Woescote & Berisford Worslow & Sheen
There is Coton & Cotton & Waterfall & Grin
and Those are four of the foulest towns as Ever man came in
There is Ilam more By Ashbourn all over the peak Hills
For wool & Lead is the Chiefest things that this Country yields
There is Oker hall & Blower hall & Mappleton ith sand
There is Tharpton & Bently & Tisingtons good Land
There is Porridge & Brassinton & Bradbourn & Win
There is Hopton & Carson & Knock a Down Inn
There is Middleton & Cromford & so to the Go[rsey] Bank
and if you taste of Wirksworth ale there you w[…]

There is Alwork & Ible & so to the Grange [mill]
There is Ireton & Hogniston & Atlow & foul
and from there you go to Bradley & there’s a pretty hall

And in that pretty Cuntry there growes good Corn
Theres Alton & Scatton & so to the Beeton forge
and from there you go to Tidbury & Inn at the old George
There is Eleson & Woton & at Stamington is good Ale
And from there you go to Swinscote or penney stones ith Vale
There is Artill & feely & Rinster so high
There is Cheadle & the Okesmoore a Little place hard by
There is Quickshall & Rooster & Dubbridge beyond
And from there you go to Whetter & there lies good Land
There is Overton & Netherton & Bremost & foul
There is Leek Church & park hall & Atlow in the hole
