Title
Public/environmental art project file: Gateway to Bolsover
Date
2000-2001
Description
This project was commissioned by Groundwork Creswell and Junction Arts with funding from Bolsover District Council. The commission called for a professional environmental sculptor to create a "distinctive entrance statement into the town", which would also act as a screen to Bolsover Business Park, Carr Vale. The artist eventually chosen was Liz Lemon, who created a 5.5 metre-high stainless steel gate, installed on 25 May 2001.
This file contains correspondence, proposal/brief, text for interpretation panels, press release, original detailed design drawings, budgeting/financial information, photographs of the work being installed, photographs of the opening ceremony, photocopy of newspaper article in the Yorkshire Post on 25 May 2001
