TitleTwo parts of award for the appeasing of variances, grudges and debates depending between 1. Austen Pole and Cecelye his wife, one of the daughters and heirs of William Bowdon deceased and Dorothy Bowdon her sister and 2. Robert Dawkyn and Grace his wife, late wife of Edward Bowdon, younger brother to William Bowdon, and Barnard Bowdon son and heir to Edward, concerning the title of all lands the inheritance of Thomas father of William and Edward, within Chapel en le Frith, Bowden and Milton otherwise Chapel Milton by which Sir Henry Sacheverell, Richard Curzon and Rauff Sacheverell esquire arbitrators awarded that whereas an assize is depending between the parties, Austen Pole and other plaintiffs shall discontinue the assize

DescriptionAusten and his wife shall as in the right of Cecelye and Dorothy enjoy to them and the heirs of Cecelye and Dorothy, all lands etc which were of the inheritance appertaining to Thomas Bowden at any time in his life in Chapel en le Frith and Bowden, and Dawkyn, his wife and Barnard are to deliver to Austen, Cecelye and Dorothy all evidences etc concerning the said lands with true copies of all other evidences concerning those lands and other lands jointly;
Dawkyn and Grace as in right of Grace shall enjoy during her life all lands etc which were of the inheritance or appertaining to Thomas and Edward Bowdon or to either of them by'their lifetimes in Milton or Chapel Milton [in Chapel en le Frith] and after her death, Barnard Bawdon shall have to him and his heirs male all the lands etc in Milton or Chapel Milton except one close called Robynson Feld now in the holding of Laurence Molt and 2 other parcels of ground called Gunne lands lying in Hockholme and lee now in the holding of Robert Mellor and in default of such issue, after the deaths of Grace and Barnard, Austen Pole and Cecelye his wife as in the right of Cecelye, and Dorothy Bowdon, shall have the said lands in Milton or Chapel Milton to them and the heirs of Dorothy and Cecelye, and the Poles and Dorothy, after Grace Dawkyn's death shall have in right of Cecelye and Dorothy Robynson Feld and Gunne lands for ever, with further provisions concerning the evidences of the premises.
