| Description | Reciting deeds of 19, 20 January 1676/7 (see D779/Z/5/19-20), that Thomas Bowdon, late of Bowden gentleman is dead, leaving Robert his brother his heir, who also is dead leaving George Bowden (party 2.) his uncle and heir, to whom the equity of redemption of the premises in the recited deeds has come, that there is now due on the mortgage £1,057 17s 3d and £600 principal besides interest for the same, which John Daykin of Derby gentleman and William Gilbert of the same, agents in that behalf for Sir John Curzon have paid to the late King with Curzon's money for Nicholas Bowden (elder brother of George) who was receiver for the City and County of Chester as in above, in discharge of £973 16s 6d due to the King and chargeable on Nicholas Bowden's estate, making £625, together £1,682 17s 3½d and witnessing that for £1,682 17s 3½d paid to Curzon by Degge at the direction of George Bowden, Curzon released to Gilbert and Swinerton in trust for Degge premises as in lease and release of 19, 20 January 1676/7, except that Shorely appears in place of Shorehey. Endorsed that at a commission in Chancery held at Tideswell between Thomas Bowdon gentleman complainant and Sir Simon Degge and others defendants this deed was shown to Thomas Swinnerton and William Taylor upon their examination on the defendants' part.
