DescriptionDated 2, 3 January 1796 and made between 1. John Harrison 2. Mary Almond and 3. George Almond of Nottingham linen draper and Thomas Saxelbye of Derby merchant, for Mary's "considerable" portion in money and upon securities, and to provide her with a jointure of £200 pa, of messuage with homestead and croft adjoining, 5 closes called Top of the Hill Close, Galloway Close, Dark Stile Close, Stable Close and Far Close, Water Rindle Close, Moor Close and two Meadow Closes (giving acreages as in D 779B/T 698-9) all in the possession of Jacob Botham the younger under an agreement for lease for 14 years from 5 Ap 1791 at rent £115 10s; messuage with lands in Bromihurst, parish Barton upon Irwell, county Lancaster, called the Flathead, Pingle, Greenfield, Broom Croft, High Field, further, Middle and Near Doles, the Meadow, Pasture Field, two Heys, the Carr and the Brundearth or Burnedearth, messuage now in 2 dwellings with orchard, garden etc in Broomihurst called Chadwicks, all in occupation of Edmund Rogerson under 11- year lease from 2 Feb and 1 May 1793, at rent of £100; messuage and lands called Barn Field, House Field, Pit Field, Garden Field, nearer Carr, farther Carr, Further and Near Brick Kiln Fields, nearer and Further Hassock, called the Intake Estate and in Barton upon Irwell, in the occupation of William Derbyshire under 21- year lease from 2 Feb and 1 May 1784 at rent of £40 10s; premises are settled to the use of Harrison until the marriage, then to him for life, then to provide Mary with security of £200 for her jointure in lieu of dower (further detail)
