Title | Grant and agreement (both parts) made between 1. John Hurt of Ambaston husbandman and 2. John Rolleston son of John of Wilne, Aston, yeoman, by which Hurt, in consideration of the future marriage of Rolleston and Margaret Smetheley of Ambaston near kinswoman of Margaret, John Hurt's wife, and to advance her marriage, granted to Rolleston, all his goods, cattells and chattels moveable and unmoveable which he has or may have and all profits arising out of the messuage, lands etc. which he holds for life in Ambaston (see below), excepting money, coin, and 10 hives of bees at his house in Ambaston, and Hurt gave Rolleston a silver sixpence to put him and Margaret into possession and seisin, and in consideration of this, it was agreed that all Rolleston's goods and land he then had or would have in the future, including those granted to him by Hurt in this deed, but excepting £20 to be given to Rolleston by his father, should be occupied and used jointly by Rolleston, Margaret Smetheley, John and Margaret Hurt, for their maintenance and housekeeping after the marriage, for the lives of John and Margaret Hurt.
