Administrative History
Charles Edward Shuttleworth was the son of Mary Holden and James Shuttleworth. He inherited the Holden estate in 1791 after the death of his brother and two older brothers James and William (both of whom died without issue). On inheriting the estate he changed his name to Holden (see D779/T/5/1/1).
