Administrative HistoryLike Winster, (see D776), Elton was a chapelry of Youlgreave until the nineteenth century. The church was re-built 1812-16, on the site of the old church. The registers were badly damaged in a fire at the vicarage in 1871, and some survivals are only fragmentary.
Custodial HistoryThese records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office by the parish in March 1970, July and October 1986 and June 1990 and by the Wirksworth Team Ministry in March 2026.
