Description
(2) Lease, for lives, by Peter of Gresley to Roger son of Gilbert Bouchard and Richard his brother. Peter hands over and leases to Roger and Richard for their whole lives a lease of 2 acres of land in Norton Heath extending to the field of Appleby near the land of Richard Seeley. Annual rent to Peter, heirs and assigns from Roger and Richard of 2 shillings at 2 times of the year at the feast of St Michael 12d and at the feast of St Mary the Virgin in March 12d without any dispute or quibble for all secular service and demands. For this concession Roger and Richard pay 5 shillings. Witnesses: John of Norton, William of Croxall of the same, Thomas son of Richard of the same, Thomas le Harpur of Appleby, William Pecher of the same, Richard Pecher of the same, others
(3) Lease, for lives, by Peter of Gresley to Roger Gilbert of Appleby and Henry his son. Peter hands over and leases to Roger and Henry for their whole lives a lease of 3½ acres and one rood in Norton Heath extending to the field of Appleby near the lands of Roger son of Roger John. Annual rent to Peter, heirs and assigns from Roger and Henry of 2s 6d at 2 times of the year at the feast of St Michael 15d and at the feast of St Mary the Virgin in March 15d without any dispute or quibble for all secular service and demands. Moreover it is allowed for Roger and Henry his son to give bequeath, sell and assign the said land within the term without any condition of Peter and his heirs except for the reverting. For this concession Roger and Henry pay 8s 6d. On the death of Roger and Henry the whole land reverts to the said Peter and his heirs except the last crop, existing on the land. (4) Lease, for lives, by Peter of Gresley to John of Appleby and his son Roger. Peter hands over and leases to John and Roger for their whole lives a lease of 4 ½ acres of land in Norton Heath extending to the field of Appleby between the lands of Roger Gilbert and of Robert Franceys. Annual rent of 4s from John and Roger to Peter at 2 times of the year at the feast of St Michael 2s and at the feast of St Mary the Virgin in March 2s without any dispute or quibble for all secular service and demands. For this concession John and Roger pay 11s. Witnesses as D77/1/74/2
(5) Lease, for lives, by Peter of Gresley to Richard Seeley of Appleby and Emmot his wife. Peter hands over and leases to Richard and Emmot for their whole lives a lease of 2 acres of land in Norton Heath extending to the field of Appleby near the land of Roger son of Gilbert Bochard. Annual rent to Peter, heirs or assigns from Richard and Emmot of 2 shillings of silver at 2 times of the year at the feast of St Michael 12d and at the feast of St Mary the Virgin in March 12d without any dispute or quibble for all secular service and demands. For the concession Richard and Emmot give 5s 6d. Witnesses as D77/1/74/2
(6) Lease, for lives, by Peter of Gresley to Simon Thomas of Austrey and Alice his wife. Peter hands over and leases to the said Simon and Alice for their whole lives a lease of 4 acres of land in Norton Heath extending to Sciremere between the lands of John Faler and of John at the Churchyard Annual rent to Peter, from Simon and Alice of 4 shillings of silver at 2 times of the year at the feast of St Michael 2s and at the feast of St Mary the Virgin in March 2s without any dispute or quibble for all secular service and demands. For the concession Simon and Alice give 9s. Witnesses as D77/1/74/2
