| Description | This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
[Bearwardcote]. A Map of the manor of Bearwardcourt or Barrocote in the Co. of Derby with other contiguous lands in the townships of Etwall and Mickleover, the property of Robert Newton esq. surveyed and drawn by Wm. Fairbank 1766. Surveyor:William Fairbank. Scale: of 20 chains [1:2260]. Size: 64 x 89 cm. Materials: ink and colour on parchment. Centred on: SK283334 Notes: very well drawn map with fine drawing of Bearwoodcote Hall alongside title and in plan within moated site with 'Aha walk' and gardens, bridge over moat and possible gatehouse: shows lettered and numbered fields coloured to denote land holdings: roads and footways named, adjacent townships noted, marl pits, some field names and 2 further farmsteads.
