Description
This series contains published works by Lawrence du Garde Peach, produced between 1926 and 1959. The material consists mainly of printed volumes of plays, some published as part of specific series. Most of the works were written for school and youth groups and are presented as short plays or booklets. Some copies exist in duplicate. Key themes and subject matter include:
1. Plays for Youth Groups – Works from the Plays for Youth Group series, written for performance by young actors and audiences, covering historical, moral and mythical themes.
2. Historical and Biographical Plays – Plays based on British history, biblical narratives and notable figures, including David and Goliath: David in Exile (1944), King Over Israel: The Last Days of David (1944) and The Castles of England series (1938).
