Administrative History
Sir William's great grandson (the then holder of this peerage) was attainted for high treason in the Jaobite rebellion of 1715, and the title was forfeited.
Custodial History
The original patent was previously at Hassop Hall and was given to the Bodleian Library by Mr Bagshawe and Mr Bradbury in 1931.
