These copies are described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:

Buckston [Buxton] in the countie of Darbie belonging to the right honorable William Earle of Newcastle. Surveied by Wm. Senior uppon the scale of 16 poles in an inch in the yeare of our lord god 1631. Surveyor: William Senior. Scale: of 16 poles in an inch [1:3200]. Size: 69 x 50 cm. Materials: coloured paints on vellum. Centred on: SK059734. Notes: cardinal points at edges, north at top. Shows 400 acres with houses on street in diagrammatic perspective, market place in 'Buxton Towne': open fields with lands in ownership (dotted lines), furlong names, area, conventional sign and number, free uncoloured, named closes, area, conventional sign and number: buildings, 'Buxton Well', pool with 3 towers: water mill: 'Pooles Hole' [Pooles Cavern], entrance, elevation: river, two branches: roads, 'Grin Low edge' stylised rock face, the 'Geald field' with rocks. The Peak Forrest Fosterie belonginge to the right honorable William Earle of Newcastle. Surveyd by William Senior Professor of the Mathematiques. November 1637. Surveyor:William Senior. Scale:32 [poles] in an inch [1:6400]. Size: 69 x 40 cm. Materials: coloured paints on vellum. Centred on: SK0980 Notes: shows 554 acres on Barmoor and part of Rushop Edge, named pasture, Beemore and closes with area and named tenants: stylised rock cliffs above Barmoor, stream and 'The new well which ebs and flowes': 4 houses in a terrace and 1 separate. Location: Portland Estate Office, Welbeck, Senior Newcastle volume, 67 verso; copies in DRO, D7676/BagC/292: DRO, D6164/1, black and white photocopy, 39 x 53 cm.

Stoake in the countie of Darbie belonging to the right Honorable Wm. Earle of Newcastle. Surveyed by William Senior wellwiller to the mathematiques anna domini 1630. Surveyor:William Senior. Scale: 32 [poles] in an inch [1:6400]. Size: 69 x 40 cm. Materials: ink and coloured paints on vellum. Centred on: SK240762 Notes: basically similar to above, from same survey, same computation of area: gives table of areas, including 'The riddings not platted', these are included, detached above: many more areas coloured green for pasture [?] and the reference letter and number omitted: bridge in block plan to show 4 piers: mill on tributary of R. Derwent, Stoke Brook: this sheet is listed in the contents list of the Senior volume for Stoke.
