This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:

A map of land and tenements in Chappell in le Frith In Derbyshire. [nd 18c] Scale: of 10 chains [1:3200] with dividers. Size: 87 x 112 cm. Inset plan 'Adam Jacksons farm….'
32 x 32 cm. Materials: coloured ink on parchment. Centred on: SK060788 Notes: compass rose, top of sheet west. Estate plan with land in ownership only showing named closes, wall and tree boundaries, reference letters, tenure colours: arable, meadow, pasture distinguished: horse roads with double dotted lines, paths, streams: houses, in perspective, some named, 1 major house (Ridge Hall?): adjoining owners, features: includes 'An Explanation of the Marks and Simbols ... ': simple 2 line border marked in inches and every 5th inch numbered according to 20 chains: a shield prepared for a coat-of-arms, not completed: fine draftsmanship.
