Description | James, King of England, to the Escheator of Derbyshire: quoting an inquisition post mortem of Christopher Bagshawe, who died 19th April, 1593, seized of certain lands in Wormhill and a third part of a forestorship in the forest of the High Peak, held as of the castle and manor of the High Peak, parcel of the Honour of Tutbury, by the services of an archer and catching wolves in the Peak Forest; at the time of his death his daughters Grace and Frances were seven and five years respectively. The Escheator is now ordered to restore the property to Edward Bagshawe (husband of Grace) and Francis Thornhill (husband of Frances). |
