Description
Hugh Cotton of Yoxall (co. Staffs), yeoman, son of John Cotton, to Robert Ardern, gentleman. His chief place in Yoxall, with all other measses, etc.; for £4 already paid, and a further £3 and £5 to be paid at specified dates, together with 4 steers to draw his plough and 2 young kine or hiefers in calf, and (for the lives of Hugh and Elizabeth his wife) a mease in Yoxall called Anne Halfways thyng at a rent of 2s 6d, and another cottage for the life of Alice Cotton, mother of Hugh.
