Antiquarian Notes and related papers

Description
This heterogenous and miscellaneous mass of papers has been sorted as far as possible. It consists of transcripts and notes (many of them very rough indeed), made by or for Benjamin and E. g. Bagshawe. Benjamin Bagshawe had in mind writing a history of the High Peak hundred, and mostof his notes were compiled to this end. He was also interested in the Bagshawe family history. Mr E.G. Bagshawe was concerned almost solely with the pedigree of the Bagshawe family and mostof his researches were directly or indirectly concerned with this. Unfortunately, he seems never to have produced anything approaching a finished product.
Benjamin Bagshwe worked particularly on the Wolley and other manuscripts in the British Museum, and was much the more coherent notetaker. Mr E. G. Bagshawe went through many of the relevant documents in the Public Record Office, but many of his notes were so rough and incoherent as to be in some cases worthless to the student - for whom, of course, they were not intended.
