Administrative History | James Lomas Barratt (born 1878 in Fernilee) was a Gunner in the Machine Gun Corps, Regiment No. 625, stationed on the Western Front during the First World War. Apparently surviving the Front, Barratt was subsequently posted to India with his unit, where, in 1919, he drowned in a river. Before enlisting, James Barratt was a postman in Buxton. |
