The draft deeds and papers in this collection appear to have originated with the solicitor John Cruso jr. of Leek, Staffordshire (1789-1867), who acted as agent to major families including the Gells of Hopton and the FitzHerberts of Tissington. They concern the sale of the family's Bradbourne estate and the manor of Ible.
