Archive CreatorKingsway Hospital, formerly Derby Borough Lunatic Asylum, Derby
Administrative HistoryDerby Borough Asylum opened in 1888, with 27 patients, housed in a building designed by Hull architect Benjamin S Jacobs. It later became known as Kingsway Hospital, and was taken over by the National Health Service in 1948.
Custodial HistoryTransfered to Derbyshire Record Office in March 2009.
