Administrative History | By the Local Government Act of 1894 parish councils took over civil duties which had previously been undertaken by Anglican church vestries. The responsibilities of Tissington Parish Council included street lighting, allotments, recreation grounds, footpaths, war memorials, village halls, public seating, burial grounds (see cemeteries) and civic celebrations |
