Custodial HistoryThe records in this series were transferred from Warwickshire County Record Office in October 2019 where they had been deposited by (and with other records of) the West Midlands Province of the United Reformed Church. It appears the records had been given to the Province by Charles E. Surman whose initials appear on the box in which they were deposited. The label on the original box read 'DERBYSHIRE NOTES AND ARTICLES AND LETTERS being the basis and substance of the MA & PHD THESES of DR REGINALD MANSFIELD (d. 1976) passed to me by his widow 1977 Many came from me! C.E.S.'

Charles E. Surman has also researched and written histories of congregational churches.
