Administrative History
In advance of an application to Parliament to build a canal, turnpike road, railway or other public works from 1792 it was necessary for plans to be deposited with the Clerk of the Peace for every county through which the intended works would pass. Copies were also deposited with Parish Clerks. It is important to remember that not all works were carried out.
Custodial History
Deposited by Glossop Borough Library in September 1969.
