DescriptionThe Brassington, Bradbourne, and Hognaston Branch of the Royal British Legion was founded on 16 December 1929. The Branch Standard was dedicated in St James, Brassington on 26 June 1932 and was laid up in St James, Brassington on 8 June 1997. The headquarters was originally erected on land just off Church Street in Brassington. In 1994 a larger hut was obtained from Derbyshire County Council. Funds were then raised to clad the hut with local limestone. The work was completed in 1996 and the new building was opened by Lady Hilton.
