Description	Plaque on the abutment wall at the South end of Newhaven Tunnel "CROMFORD & HIGHPEAK RAILWAY 1825". What are the initials PH & Co, could it be Porteus & Co., the contractor for this length of line or Philip Heacock, who was at the meeting on the 16th June 1824 and in 1829 was agent to the Duke of Devonshire.
