Wigley Primary School, Old Brampton
Administrative History
The original school at Old Brampton was built about 1830 and was attached to St Peter and St Paul, Old Brampton. It seems to have been established formally as a National School in 1882. However, the school was taken over by the Brampton and Walton School Board in 1885. A new school was built at Wigley in 1895 to allow children from surrounding villages and farms to attend. In 1947 it becames a junior and infant school, later a primary school.
