Executors: Edmund Hodgkinson and George Webster, both of Wirksworth
- bequests include land at Wirksworth called Spinks, Broomwell Close, Rough Close, and the freehold part of Nash or Wheatcroft Close, the Pingle, (these being occupied by Edward Barker, Jno Elliott, John Brailsford, Mr Cantrell, and Charles Kniveton), and a messuage at Derby, all to son in law Thomas Grayson for life, then to testator's nephew, Samuel Wright the younger, for life, and then to the latter's son, William Wright. All other real and copyhold estate at Wirksworth to the said nephew, and then to his said son, as above, but subject to payments of five shillings weekly to nephew John Wright of Derby, and two shillings and sixpence weekly to nephew, Joseph Collinson, both for life, two shillings and sixpence weekly to niece Hannah Wright of Bolehill, for life, starting on her father's death, and two shillings weekly for life to John Wright (son of testator's brother, Joseph Wright) if and when he ever returns to England, he not having been heard of for several years. All mortgages, bank notes, money, household goods, personal estate, etc, to Edmund Hodgkinson and George Webster in trust to pay debts and bequests of £1,030 equally divided amongst testator's nephews and nieces, being the children of Joseph Cotterill of Liverpool deceased, from which five shillings weekly is to be paid to their mother, Ann Cotterill, for life; £150 to niece Hannah Collinson, widow; £100 each to nephews and nieces Robert Steer, Thomas Gibbons, Sarah Ogden, Sarah Tomlinson, Sarah Webster, Ellen Slack, Hannah Poyser, and Martha Smedley; £50 each to nieces Silence Smedley and Catherine Silkstone; £100 divided equally among the children of niece Ellen (the wife of William Taylor of Alfreton); £100 divided equally between the wife and children of nephew, the late James Steer of Wirksworth; £19 19s each to great nephew and great niece Thomas Gibbons the younger and his sister Sarah Clough; £90 19s to nephew John Wright of Derby; £19 19s each to great nieces Elizabeth (the wife of John Clough the younger) and Martha (the wife of John Wild); £19 19s each to the children of great niece ---- Peet of Kirk Ireton; £10 each to the five children of niece Martha Smedley; £19 19s to the son of the late Henry Tissington and his wife (testator's niece); £50 and my bagatelle table to son in law Thomas Grayson; £50 and a mourning ring to friend the Rev John Kett, vicar of Brigg, Lincolnshire; £10, and books [specified] to friend Thomas Norris Ince, plus £2 if he will copy a ms volume of my poems and present it to Miss Wager; £5 to godson the son of Mr Frost of the Swine Market, Wirksworth; £5 to servant Peggy Harpur; £10 each to the executors; my picture of the late Dr Godwin to Thomas Shaw of the Market Place; books, etc, to nephew Samuel Wright; clothes to nephews Samuel Wright, John Wright of Derby, Robert Steer, Thomas Smedley, and the sons of James Steet [The testator was party to a lease and release dated 6/7 Aug 1824 concerning the houses in Church Street, Bakewell]
