Title
Copy of the will of Charles Darwent of Bakewell, farmer. Will dated 10 Jul 1877. Testator died 11 Feb Proved at Derby on 19 Mar 1878. Personal estate sworn under £1,000 Executors and trustees: wife Helen, and sons-in-law Thomas Rushworth and William Wain. My messuage at Bridge Street, Bakewell, now occupied by Thomas Clarke, to be sold to pay legacies, and the residue divided equally between my four daughters: Sarah, the wife of Edward Newton, Eliza, the wife of Thomas Rushworth, Elizabeth, the wife of William Miers, and Emma, the wife of William Wain. Legacies: £100 to daughter Sarah, £100 to daughter Elizabeth, £50 to daughter Emma, £100 in trust for grandson William Arthur Spencer. Various other trust specified.Codicil dated 10 Jul 1877: revokes the above as regards William Wain, and substitutes son-in-law William Fenton Miers; various trusts
