Copy draft conveyance by (1) Joseph Evans of Darley Dale, farmer, and Samuel Evans and John Evans, both of Alport, millers, being the devisees under the will of Samuel Knowles of Bakewell, cooper, dated 21 Feb 1868 (with a codicil dated 14 Feb 1874), testator died 9 Mar 1874, will proved at Derby on 5 Jun 1874; to (2) the Duke of Devonshire; - of a land situate in the Township of Sheldon, namely a piece of land 6a 2r 14p lying south of the Sheldon to Flagg road, occupied by Benjamin Mayfield, and a piece of land 3a 0r 20p by Hades Lane, occupied by ---- Brocklehurst, for £700.
