| Administrative History | Nellie Kirkham (1896-1979) was one of the two children of earthenware manufacturer Harold Kirkham and his wife Agnes, who lived at “Gladwyn”, Minton Place, Stoke. After attending Queenwood Ladies College in Eastbourne, she spent the early years of her career as an artist and illustrator. She was also a poet and published playwright. Kirkham went on to become a notable historian and writer, specialising in the history of lead mining, particularly in the Peak District. She married James Myatt in 1928. |
| Custodial History | The poems were donated to Derbyshire Record Office by a private individual in 2002. The remainder of the collection was deposited by the Peak District Mines Historical Society in November 2015 and December 2015 |
