Hewitt family of Chesterfield
Administrative History
The Hewitt family were involed in the textiles industry for several generations. They were dealers in cloth and silks,as well as other fabrics.
Mark Hewitt was born on 25 April 1760. He and his wife Ann, born 11 December 1760, had several children. Ann Hewitt died on 10 July 1831.
Charles Hewitt was born on 17 February 1801.
Custodial History
These papers were found in the home of Miss Margaret Hewitt of Chesterfield (died aged 91). They were deposited through the Local Studies Library in Chesterfield in January 2002.
