Administrative History | The Denby Old Hall estate was acquired by William Strelley of Oakerthorpe in the eighteenth century and was still in the hands of his descendants in 1945. The coal workings on the estate at Denby were leased and worked by the Butterley Company from the late nineteenth century. |
