Administrative History
The estate of the Walthall family included Alton Manor in Derbyshire, property in Derby, Wistaston Manor in Cheshire and 'The Cottage' in St Asaph in the county of Flint. Alton Manor was built for James Milnes of Wirksworth in 1846-1847.
Custodial History
This records were transferred to the Record Office from Derby Local Studies Library in July 2001.
