Title	Preparing for a Duel
Date	12 Jan 1795
Description	In the centre is a large man in top boots, a jacket with brocade and a cocked hat with a feather plume. He has a sword strapped on and four pistols jammed in a belt. On his left is a terrified young man in pantaloons, a jean-de-brie coat and round hat. He is holding a pistol in his right hand. Behind the young man is another man, also in pantaloons, kneeling on the ground and praying. The large man in the centre is pointing to a man on the right who is carrying a spade in his left hand and a sack over his shoulder labelled 'RAZOR BLADES AND BULLETS'. Behind him are a man in black and a clergyman in a long coat. Available on CD 160.

Further Information	G M Woodward Invt. : T. Rowlandson Sct. Pubd Jany 12th 1795 by S.W. Fores No. 3 Piccadilly A version of this print, by H Heath is at the Lewis Walpole Library. The print, titled: 'Preparations for a Duel' (Walpole 824.0.18) dates from 1824 and shows a similar central character, with cocked hat and pistol flanked by characters which resemble those of the Woodward original, including a man with a shovel and another holding a box marked 'razor blades and bullets'.
