Administrative History | J J Blow Ltd was initially based in London. The company was incorporated in 1940 and specialised in producing agricultural machinery such as filter mediums, milk strainers, churns and cans. It was purchased by Robinson and Son Ltd in 1941 and became a subsidiary company. J J Blow's factory was on Chester Street in Chesterfield in the 1940s, but was later based at the Oldfield Works off Chatsworth Road. In the 1960s the company developed the 'Blow Automatic Calf Feeder' for use in farms. In 1977 a second company was formed, called Blow G R P Limited, for the manufacture of plastic and glass fibre products predominantly for the leisure industry. Parts produced by this company were used in the manufacture of children's go-karts. Robinsons sold J J Blow Ltd in 1986 and the Oldfield Works were demolished soon afterwards. |
