Administrative History
Charles Portland Robinson was the second son of the founder, John Bradbury Robinson. On his father's death in 1869, Charles became a partner. He became one of the three directors on the formation of the limited company in 1893. On the death of his brother William Bradbury Robinson in 1911, Charles became Chairman. He was elected to Chesterfield Borough Council in 1892 and was Mayor from 1902 to 1903. He was a member of the Soresby Street Congregational Church and later of the Brampton Congregational Church.
