Description | Correspondence predominantly between William Heygate, James Heygate junior, Isaac Hodgson, John Pares, Thomas Pares II and Thomas Pares III relating to their cotton milling and banking businesses.
Until the 1820s, the correspondence between Isaac Hodgson and his cousin Thomas Pares III is mostly on personal rather than business matters. As all the correspondents in this series were related, many of the letters are on mixed family and business matters. The correspondence becomes more family-centred after the 1830s, when Thomas Pares III had withdrawn from the Pares banking company.
See the pedigrees at the front of the catalogue for explanation of family relationships. |
