Includes details of campaigns and treks, camps, blockhouse defence system, guerilla activities of Boers, attempts to capture leaders including De Wet, firing of Boer farms and crops and casualties resulting from attacks. Also includes comments on Kaffirs and their lifestyle, especially reactions to gramophone music. Concludes with news of success of peace conference. On last page: press cutting dated 21 Sep 1902 recording Private Arthur Taylor's return home to Osmaston by Ashbourne.
